It’s been awhile hasn’t it?

2 May

It appears that I disappeared for about 10 days or so. Believe me, it wasn’t intentional. I live in the Northern Alabama area and we were hit but the tornadoes, as you hopefully know. Today’s message will be brief (as it sometimes is), so enjoy my loves.

When you focus on problems, you will have more problems. When you focus on possibilities, you will have more opportunities.

10 Things I Hate About You

21 Apr
I hate the way you talk to me,

and the way you cut your hair.

I hate the way you drive my car,

I hate it when you stare.

I hate your big dumb combat boots

and the way you read my mind.

I hate you so much it makes me sick,

it even makes me rhyme.

I hate the way you’re always right,

I hate it when you lie.

I hate it when you make me laugh,

even worse when you make me cry.

I hate it when you’re not around,

and the fact that you didn’t call.

But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you,

not even close…

not even a little bit…

not even at all.

A love letter from Nathaniel Hawthorne

21 Apr
Dearest Sophia,

December 5, 1839

I wish I had the gift of making rhymes, for methinks there is poetry in my head and heart since
I have been in love with you.
You are a Poem.
Of what sort, then? Epic?
Mercy on me, no! A sonnet?
No; for that is too labored and artificial.
You are a sort of sweet, simple, gay, pathetic ballad, which Nature is singing, sometimes with tears, sometimes with smiles, and sometimes with intermingled smiles and tears.

Nathaniel

Lyrics to Young Blood, by The Naked and Famous

20 Apr

(Current favorite song)

We’re only young and naive still
We require certain skills
The mood it changes like the wind
Hard to control when it begins

The bittersweet between my teeth
Trying to find the in-betweens
Fall back in love eventually
Yeah yeah yeah yeah

Can’t help myself but count the flaws
Claw my way out through these walls
One temporary escape
Feel it start to permeate

We lie beneath the stars at night
Our hands gripping each other tight
You keep my secrets hope to die
Promises, swear them to the sky

The bittersweet between my teeth
Trying to find the in-betweens
Fall back in love eventually
Yeah yeah yeah yeah

As it withers
Brittle it shakes
Can you whisper
As it crumbles and breaks
As you shiver
Count up all your mistakes
Pair of forgivers
Let go before it’s too late
Can you whisper
Can you whisper
Can you whisper
Can you whisper

The bittersweet between my teeth
Trying to find the in-betweens
Fall back in love eventually
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
The bittersweet between my teeth
Trying to find the in-betweens
Fall back in love eventually
Yeah yeah yeah yeah

It’s a brand new day

“Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass…
It’s about learning how to dance in the rain.”

Assumptions are the termites of relationships

19 Apr

Sounds a bit cheesy, but it’s so very true.

When you assume. You make as ‘ass’ out of ‘u’ and ‘me’. Get it?

Ever wonder why a fight starts? Or you start losing trust for one another? It’s probably because you’re assuming the worst. Yes its natural, we’re all human. It’s what we were programmed to do. BUT that doesn’t mean that’s what we have to do!

Think about it for a second, think very hard. Think about every time a fight occurs and what exact actions take place beforehand. One of you assumes something, the other automatically gets defensive (another natural response), and then all of a sudden you are both arguing.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Relax my friends, it’s all about trust and the way you handle things. Try your best not to just assume. Always expect the unexpected, because most likely that’s what you’ll get.
